Meet Your Agent

Hi, I'm Osiana.

Before becoming a licensed health insurance agent, I spent 7+ years as an EMT. I've seen firsthand how often people are failed by the healthcare system. Having "insurance" doesn't always mean having the right coverage when it matters most.

I've seen patients beat cancer and survive emergencies, only to leave the hospital stressed about how they were going to afford the care they still needed afterward.

That's why I approach this differently.

Whether you're self-employed, losing coverage, or simply trying to make the right decisions, I want you to feel like you have someone in your corner.

Common Questions

Health insurance, answered

The questions I hear most often from clients — explained plainly, with no jargon.

When can I enroll in a health insurance plan?
Most people enroll during the annual Open Enrollment Period (Nov 1 – Jan 15 in most states). Outside of that window, you can still enroll if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period — for example, after losing job-based coverage, getting married, having a baby, or moving. Private plans can often be started year-round, which is one reason many of my clients prefer them.
What's the difference between a premium, deductible, and out-of-pocket maximum?
Your premium is what you pay every month to keep the policy active. Your deductible is what you pay out of pocket before the plan starts sharing costs. Your out-of-pocket maximum is the most you'll ever pay in a year — once you hit it, the plan covers 100% of in-network care. A low premium often means a higher deductible, and vice versa.
HMO, PPO, EPO — what's the difference and which is right for me?
HMO plans are usually the most affordable but require you to stay in-network and get referrals to see specialists. PPO plans cost more but give you flexibility to see any doctor, in or out of network, without a referral. EPO sits in the middle — no referrals needed, but you must stay in-network. The right pick depends on your doctors, your budget, and how much flexibility you want.
Will my doctor and prescriptions be covered?
That's exactly the kind of thing I check for you before you enroll. I pull up each plan's provider directory and drug formulary, confirm your doctors are in-network, and make sure your medications are covered at a tier you can afford. No surprises after enrollment.
Do I qualify for a subsidy or financial help?
Many people do — and most don't realize it. If you go through the public marketplace, you may qualify for premium tax credits based on your household size and income. I'll run the numbers with you and compare what a subsidized marketplace plan would cost vs. a private plan, so you can make the most informed choice.
